Immigration and Settlement Strategy

Local Immigration Partnerships are funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to:

  • Foster a systematic approach to engaging service providers  and other institutions in newcomers’ integration process;
  • Support community-level research and local strategic planning; and,
  • Improve coordination of effective services that facilitate immigrant settlement and integration.

The overall objective is to enhance collaboration, coordination and strategic planning in order to foster a more welcoming and inclusive community, and improve the settlement and integration outcomes. The project goal is the development of a local strategy to attract and retain immigrants, to be completed by April 2016.
