Vernon & District Volunteer Bureau

  CVCN
(Community Volunteer Coordinators Network)

Coordinators of volunteers from non-profit organizations meet monthly to network, share information, problem solve, and plan events around the issues of volunteerism.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the People Place from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Any coordinator of volunteers is welcome to join the group and to bring to the table concerns or news regarding volunteer recruitment, retention, liability, and community awareness.

The community is a better place because of the efforts of countless volunteers. We need to recognize, respect, and utilize this source of power which will happen more effectively through collaboration and planning — thus, the CVCN.

"We are a support group for one another," says Twylla Genest, chairperson of the committee and manager of the Vernon and District Volunteer Bureau. "The more we help each other, the more we help ourselves" — and therefore, the more we help our community.
